Having never been to Africa, and having never been a keen cyclist, the Cycle of Life promises to be a challenge.
As a freelance writer and documentary-maker, I am filming the trip and hope to capture something of the essence of this incredible journey that Barty is leading.
The collaboration with Centrepoint promises to provide a rare perspective on the countries we visit, as the diverse group of people experience and come to understand the issues people in rural Africa face on a daily basis.
And while a bicycle is really not the ideal method of transport for any self-respecting cameraman, it is pretty good for really seeing a country and being accepted by its' local communities.
