FUNDRAISING UPDATE
On bursting through the £100,000 barrier
I would like to personally congratulate Barty while wiggling in my seat with childish excitement. The day before yesterday, a coffee Barty had arranged turned into a one hundred thousand pound donation. I don't know if the charitable trust in question is to be named. It's the most brilliant news ever, and without bias, I quite honestly cannot think of a better recipient. Barty's proposal must have been incredible. The amount we know and understand about the projects that the CoL is looking to fund, having really become a part of each one for a few days at a time on the trip, turned a bid for cash into an engaging and genuine opportunity for a donor to put money in the right place. I have every confidence in Barty, in Tusk, and indeed in the rest of us, that this money will be spent wisely, considerately and moderately. It's fantastic news at this stage of our journey, when we thought there wasn't much that really could get any better.
